BUTWAL, We rarely give the products we review a full 5-star score, but with the new Redmi Note 10 Pro, we didn't hesitate. Not so long ago, buying an affordable camera phone meant enduring significant hardware savings and compromises, as well as frustrating performance degradation.
For this you can get a huge 6.67 inch 120Hz display with 1200 knit brightness, HDR10 support and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Next is the main rear camera (108MP Samsung ISOCELL HM2 sensor, f / 1.9 26mm lens on the front). This is a high-end sensor not yet found in cameras in this price range. Adjacent to it is an 8MP ultra-wide snapper, a 5MP macro camera, and a depth sensor. There is also Raw support and 4K 30p video recording. The telephoto camera would really have been cake icing, and that's not unprecedented in the budget department-Realme 6 Pro has a telephoto camera-so it's a bit disappointing not to get it with the Redmi Note 10 Pro ..
The downside is that currently the only way to get this phone in the US or Europe is to buy the Redmi Note10 Pro from Aliexpress. However, it will be available on Amazon UK from April.
Unlike most flagship phones today, the Redmi Note 10 Pro features a good old 3.5mm headphone port and microSD storage expandability (complementing 64GB or 128GB of internal storage). Add a huge 5020mAh battery to this for a real day-long battery life, even with long hours of use and long screen-on times. Thankfully, due to the large battery capacity, a 33W quick charger is included in the box (iPhone 12 Pro!).
The only major drawback of the Redmi Note 10 Pro is that it's currently very difficult to get one. You can now order it on Aliexpress, but a wider retail release is scheduled for April. Given the widespread availability of older Redmi Note phones, there is no reason to doubt this. Moreover, despite being a Chinese phone, the parent company Xiaomi does not suffer from the same Google restrictions as those like Huawei. That's why Redmi Note 10 Pro runs the latest Android 11 with full Google service support (Google Maps, Photos, etc.).
If you're still hesitant to switch from a more established phone brand to a lesser-known Chinese manufacturer, you're not alone. It was a decision I faced when buying a new smartphone last year, but I went ahead and replaced the Google Pixel 3 XL with the Redmi Note 9 Pro, the direct predecessor of the Note 10 Pro. Yeah, I bought it for my own money (I don't have a sample Shenanigan for sponsorship or giveaway reviews here!) And have been using it as a personal phone for the last 9 months.
In the meantime, you won't miss a beat without glitches, slowdowns, or crashes. Its 64MP primary camera is responsive, with fully reliable autofocus and exposure measurements, providing excellent image quality. The Note10 Pro's 108MP primary snapper delivers even better performance.
I've missed the Pixel XL's optical image stabilization, but to get crisp shots in the dark, you need a very stable hand with Redmi. But that's all about quad camera marketing. Ultra-wide cameras are likely to be rarely used and never needed a macro snapper.
The large 5020mAh battery (same as the Note 10 Pro) was a revelation, but it rarely gets less than 50% charge after a normal day of use.
Simply put, if you're looking for the best camera budget phone on the market right now, this is easy-you'll have to spend a lot more cash to get pretty good tech and performance.
